The Invitation Control feature is the same feature that was released via the beta update for iOS TestFlight users. After turning on, according to WABetaInfo, it says that this feature will be available by going to Settings> Account> Privacy> Groups. A subset of the group that will allow users to choose between three control settings for invitations - Everyone, My contacts, and None.
The first option will allow WhatsApp users to invite you to the group without sending an invite and waiting for approval. My contact options will allow users in your contact list to add the WhatsApp group without sending you an invitation. If a person who binds you to a group is not in your contact list, they will be prompted to send an invitation first, and then they will have to wait to accept or reject it. No settings will interfere with adding everyone to one group. After turning this option on, users will receive an invitation when the administrator wants to add the WhatsApp group.
